The Vice-President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has reiterated the commitment of the government to fulfill their campaign promise of paying poor and unemployed Nigerians about $25 (N5,000) every month.
The monthly pay for the poor and unemployed Nigerians had generated a lot of issues among Nigerians who thought the presidency had been dishonest with the promise to the Nigerian populace.
But, in a statement issued by Professor Osinbanjo on Thursday, April 8, the Nigerian government plans to make cash payments to poor people as a way of easing poverty and to stimulate the economy.
“…Conditional Cash Transfer where one million poor and vulnerable Nigerians would receive N5000 monthly.
“President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration remains committed to economic diversification through import substitution and export promotion. In addition to this, we will continue to engage the Nigerian people. We will resume Town-hall meetings to explain the progress and address the challenges.
